happy anniversary, love

You can expect more sap from me later today, because you deserve it and well, I feel sappy right now, but that is more of a public declaration of love. This is just for us, just for you. I love you. With every single part of me, I love you, and only you, and I'm so lucky that I get to continue loving you for the rest of my life. Thank you for making this first year of marriage an amazing one, and thank you for being the reason I can't wait to wake up in the morning, and go to bed at night, because it all means that I get to be with you. I never really thought that I would be happy, get married, and have children, and here we are: you have shown me that my dreams really can become reality. Thank you, for everything, for this past year, and for the future. I love you. Happy anniversary.

Happy Anniversary! Present #1
The traditional first year wedding anniversary present is paper, so what better way to give you paper, than to give you a book? Because I know this is something we both will need. Plus, it's actually pretty funny (and sometimes practical) and I know you find it amusing when I insist on instruction manuals for everything, so I thought you'd think this was funny.

Now, I know you are already going to be the coolest Dad on the block, but come on, if I have to stock up on the Mom books, you get the Dad ones, right?

Plus, I already know you don't need instructions on Dad Jokes. You already have those down, 100% (and I love you for it).

NOT PICTURED: Best Dad mug, t-shirt
Happy Anniversary! Present #2
So the "modern" first wedding anniversary gift is a clock.

When I saw this watch, I knew you had to have it. Because you have always been the one to look to the sky for more opportunities, and you have always been the one who just has this love and joy for science that I haven't seen in anyone else.

So, according to the website: The planets featured on the watch are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, the only ones that are visible to the naked eye and each of them is made from semiprecious stone. The planets orbit in real time, meaning that Mercury will orbit around the watch in 88 days, the earth will take a full year and Saturn - the furthest planet from the sun takes a full 29.9 years to return to it's original position. A small shooting star orbits on the outer ring of the watch to indicate the time." And if anyone is going to get a big kick out of the fact that a planetary watch follows the actual rules of orbit, it would be you.

Besides, I may not be able to build you a robot, or actually make you a watch like this, but I can buy it for you and make sure you have the best one of a kind watch out there in the world. It's almost as if it was made for you, and dammit I am going to say that it was.

Happy Anniversary! Present #3
This present, is self-explanatory. Enjoy.

[A photo album, with their first names engraved on it. Inside is are photographs, some with captions, some without, of the years they've known each other. Captured moments include: a photo of them dancing at the company Christmas party, a photo of them at the bar during another company party, little moments here and there of them at work, or out with friends, and as the years go on, photos of them being close, being happy together once they realized their feelings were the same, photo of their wedding rings, photos from their trip to Italy, photos from their wedding, various photos in the last year, and the last photo is the latest ultrasound of Olivia with the caption "Mom and Dad can't wait to meet you". AKA ITS REALLY FUCKING SAPPY.]
